Style Spotting @ japan Fashion Week 2010
(Part III)

Third installment of your jotter's recent style spotting @Japan Fashion Week.
These are the best Japanese collections for Fall-Winter 2010.

YUKI TORII INTERNATIONAL

The show that capped the season underscored quirky luxury that stylish Japanese women are globally know for.

Yuki Torii has presented bi-annual collections (including those on Parisian runways) since 1975. She paraded her clothes against a backdrop of a full scale photographic reproduction of her Gallerie Vivienne boutique in Paris.

Packing the entire hall of the Tokyo Midtown were Japan’s well heeled and the fashionable eccentrics. The powerhouse presentation began with Cynthia Mckorkindale's Sous Les Ciel de Paris.

Tweeds, boucles, vicuna, animal prints, silk-satins, chiffons, velvets, and sequin-striped knits came parading down one after the other, illuminated by three large crystal chandeliers looming overhead.

Torii represents Japan’s affluent ladies and when she came out at curtain call, she was a sight of utmost elegance and sophistication—in the non-color black, of course.
